The story behind Figuerie

Louis XIV had a profound passion for figs.

Jean de La Quintinie, his gardener, therefore planted over seven hundred fig trees of various varieties in the royal kitchen garden at the Château de Versailles to satisfy the King’s passion, creating a space specially dedicated to them: the Figuerie.

La Quintinie also perfected advanced cultivation techniques, such as espalier planting along sun-warmed walls, to ripen the figs more quickly in a sometimes rather cold climate.

Created by Émilie Bouge

“Though fig is a staple in perfumery, there was no fig-patchouli that, without leaning gourmand, expresses a refined and delicate fruit. With this richness, Figuerie fully reveals Trudon’s spirit,” - Émilie Bouge

Émilie draws her inspiration from the balance between discipline and creativity, between urban life and nature. Trained at ISIPCA, she has developed a strong affinity for natural raw materials, essential to the authenticity of her creations. Her experience in Asia has given her a particular sensitivity to oriental accords. For Maison Trudon, she has crafted several iconic fragrances, including Ernesto, Cyrnos, Cire, Tuileries, and the Les Belles Matières collection. Vixi, her first eau de parfum for Trudon, is followed by Mystique and Midnight Omen in the Nuit Rouge collection.
