Versailles, a Christmas evening in the 18th century

La Nuit des Glaces

Everywhere the eye falls, light dances in the mirrors. In the hearth, the fire crackles, giving way to the ballet of flames. In the richly decorated Hall of Mirrors of the Château de Versailles, the firelight reflects and multiplies, reverberating endlessly.

Through the La Nuit des Glaces collection (the Night of Mirrors), the spirit of Trudon revives scents of burning wood and sweet treats. With a breath of wax or a powdery trail, the winter solstice takes on an air of splendor.

Woody Smoky

Galerie des Flammes

Rich with gilding and carved panels of precious wood, releases a warm woody note. Opulent, it embodies the fervor of celebrations centered around the hearth, where the log traditionally burned for twelve days until Epiphany.

With a smoky-wood accord, Galerie des Flammes combines notes of Provence cypress, incense, and sandalwood, conveying the passion of a year-end fire.

Powdery Amber

Cabinet des Miroirs

An amber-woody accord, transports one to an 18th-century boudoir, a space of elegant richness where ladies would retreat or entertain in the utmost intimacy, animated by silk reflections and other indulgences. This creation blends amber, iris absolute, and cedarwood, naturally igniting playful seduction.

Orange & Spices

Nazareth

A historic creation of the House, once again joins the festivities with a warm, gourmand, and spicy embrace. An irresistible cocktail of clove, bitter orange, and bourbon vanilla, Nazareth brings joy and gathers family and guests alike.

Christmas Tree

Fir

The iconic winter fragrance, blends olfactory worlds of conifer, myrrh, and incense absolute. Evoking the intoxicating universe of vast winter forests, Fir gathers all the anticipation around the Christmas tree, inviting people to come together, and warm themselves, around a comforting, powerful fireplace.

Creative Director of Trudon

Hugo Ferroux

‘‘ Trudon is the story of a flame. Born in 1643, it has travelled through the centuries, passed from hand to hand, spreading with every place it illuminates and every life it touches.

In the eighteenth century, the Royal Mirror Manufactory created the mirrors that would come to define the splendour of the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles.

What could better capture the flicker of a flame than a mirror, reflecting its movement and magnifying its radiance? I wanted to celebrate this flame : The flame of history, of craftsmanship, of transmission, and of the mystery that has always surrounded it. A mirror offers a blank surface where light endlessly reinvents itself. An invitation to see differently, to open a new chapter. A new breath. ’’
