The story behind Figuerie
Louis XIV had a deep passion for figs.
Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie, his gardener, planted more than seven hundred fig trees of different varieties in the royal kitchen garden at the Palace of Versailles to satisfy the King's passion, creating a space specially dedicated to them: the Figuerie.
La Quintinie also perfected advanced cultivation techniques, such as espalier cultivation (along walls warmed by the sun) to help the figs ripen more quickly in a climate that could sometimes be quite cold.

Behind the fragrance The vision of Maison Trudon
The Creative Director Hugo Ferroux
"For my first project, I delved into the history of the House and the Court of Versailles. While exploring the Trudon archives as well as those of the Château, I quickly discovered references to the King’s Vegetable Garden and its Figuerie : an exceptional place where, under the impetus of Louis XIV, Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie developed an ecosystem capable of producing year-round the Sun King’s favourite fruit : the fig."
The Perfumer Émilie Bouge
"It is in the heart of the Sun King’s gardens that this fragrance finds its soul, where the fig trees capture the first light of spring. Like a play of chiaroscuro, this elegant scent emerges from a contrast between light and shadow, between vegetal freshness and woody depth."
