Hupo

Cire Trudon celebrates Christmas with a collection of festive scented candles: their magnetic reflections and luminous surfaces are unique. Handcrafted with care, each glass is first lacquered on the inside before being decorated with silver leaves. Placed one by one, the later leave fine cracks through which the light shines mysteriously. The flickering gives the candle a unique presence.

A mysterious and mesmerizing material, ambergris has been treasured since Antiquity. The Hupo scented candle hints at ambergris’ rare origin: sought and desired, ambergris fascinated sovereigns around the globe; it was exchanged at high price between China and the Middle East. Used in perfumes as well as medicine, its enigmatic, sensual scent matches the skin perfectly. Presented in a golden glass, the Hupo scented candle welcomes the olfactory strength of ambergris, incense and cashmere wood to celebrate Christmas in a unique manner.

Candle anatomy

The Wick

is made of cotton. One can find many types of wicks, characterized by their weaving and their diameter. The wicks are chosen depending on the shape and size of the glasses, as well as the burning characteristics of each candle.

The Wax

is the fruit of specific developments which are the source of the candle exceptional olfactory and burning qualities. When correctly taken care of, no smoke leaves a Trudon candle and no wax is left on the sides of the glass.

The Emblem

is inspired by a bas relief found at the old Royal Wax Manufacture which used to belong to the Trudon family. Situated in Antony, near Paris, it now belongs to the Church. Nowadays the domain hosts the nuns of the Saint-Joseph de Cluny congregation.

The Glass

is unique and hand-crafted in Tuscany. Its shape is inspired by champagne buckets.
