Balmain X Trudon

Building upon that longstanding relationship, the new Balmain x Trudon candle is the result of a unique partnership between the two Parisian houses. The container and perfume reflect the distinctive savoir-faire and style of both Balmain and Trudon. The striking container, inspired by the pattern of Balmain’s iconic marinière, relies on horizontal stripes and the house’s two signature colors: gold and black.

The meticulous creation process relies on an initial hand application of gold leaf upon the clear glass, before it is lacquered in black - resulting in many fine cracks, ensuring that each candle is truly unique.

The fragrance features leathery notes, Atlas cedarwood, gunpowder, cigar notes and a mysterious and distinguished black rose.

Paying homage to Balmain’s couture origins, the Trudon label has been printed in gold foil on black velvet, before being applied onto the glass. The distinctive Balmain and Trudon logos, printed in gold foil, decorate the top and sides of the black packaging.

Candle anatomy

The Wick

is made of cotton. One can find many types of wicks, characterized by their weaving and their diameter. The wicks are chosen depending on the shape and size of the glasses, as well as the burning characteristics of each candle.

The Wax

is the fruit of specific developments which are the source of the candle exceptional olfactory and burning qualities. When correctly taken care of, no smoke leaves a Trudon candle and no wax is left on the sides of the glass.

The Emblem

is inspired by a bas relief found at the old Royal Wax Manufacture which used to belong to the Trudon family. Situated in Antony, near Paris, it now belongs to the Church. Nowadays the domain hosts the nuns of the Saint-Joseph de Cluny congregation.

The Glass

is unique and hand-crafted in Tuscany. Its shape is inspired by champagne buckets.

Maintenance

    • 01.

In order to get most out of your candle, burn it until the entire surface of the candle melts.

    • 02.

To preserve the fragrance, do not burn your candle for more than 3 hours straight during the first third of the candle and 1 to 2 hours during the remaining.

    • 03.

Do not leave your candle unattended.

    • 04.

Keep away from drafts. Keep away from children, curtains and pets.

    • 05.

Should the wick require centering, gently readjust to correct position when the wax is still molten. Allow the candle to solidify before relighting.

    • 06.

Should any black smoke appear, trim the wick, which should be clean and no longer than 6mm at all times.

    • 07.

Always protect the table or surface on which candle is set (with a coaster or a plate, for example).

    • 08.

Do not burn your candle all the way down. Always leave at least 5mm of non-molten wax at the bottom.

    • 09.

Keep your candle in a dry and temperate environment, between 60 and 80° F.

    • 10.

The first use of your candle should occur within the two first months after its reception.
